The stamped, sheet steel construction helmet retains about 85% of an age and usage, smooth finished, parade green paint with large spots of wear to the base metal with light to moderate surface spotting. The left side of the helmet has an early, wide winged, rich golden yellow, Kriegsmarine eagle decal which is retained about 80% with a few scuffs and scrapes, national colors decal retained about 75%. All three liner retaining rivets and both inserted ventilation bushings are all intact. The interior of the helmet has an age and usage darkened, M31 tan leather liner with all eight of its fingers and the original tie string intact. The liner is size "53". The interior reverse, neck guard apron is well marked with stamped serial number, and the interior, left side apron has the stamped manufacturer´s code and size, "ET60", indicating manufacture by Eisen-und-Hüttenwerke, AG Thale/Harz, size 60.
